Dr Karel H. Hagemans, a British national has been practicing ophthalmic surgery since 1978.
He first studied and completed medicine at the University of Leiden. He then majored in Ophthalmology at the University of Rotterdam and became a fully fledged Ophthalmic Surgeon in 1978.
He opened his own practice in Rotterdam. He was external Ophthalmological Consultant to the Eye Hospital in Rotterdam. This was then the largest Ophthalmological Centre in the continent of Europe. Besides, he also had close contacts with Moorfields Hospital in London and Addenbrooks in Cambridge University Hospital. He maintains his contacts in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
He moved to Spain in 1999 and opened his own practices in Costa Blanca, initially in Alfaz del Pi then in Moraira and Javea.
His Hobbies: Electronic engineering. He is a fully accredited Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology. Avid reader of History, Palaeontology, Electronics (Mathematics) collector of pre and post war electronic equipment.
He speaks fluent English, German, Dutch, fairly good French and Spanish.
